Insect Worldings

The I.N.S.E.C.T. Summercamp is an interdisciplinary gathering bringing together design researchers, artists, architects, ecologists, biologists, biotremologists, and other practitioners to form the I.N.S.E.C.T. Collective. As a member of the collective, I take part in exploring experimental methodologies at the intersection of science, art, technology, and ecology. The most recent Summercamp focused on the acoustic environments of insects, using field recordings, embodiment practices, and deep listening to explore biotremology, bioacoustics, soundscapes, and insect communication. As part of the collective, I developed a redesign concept for the I.N.S.E.C.T. website, rethinking its structure, navigation, and visual appearance. The concept brings together information about the collective, its projects, community, and activities in a clearer and more cohesive digital experience, while developing a visual direction that reflects the intersection of science, ecology, and contemporary art.
